Coffee Week is taking place between 10 -16th April here in the UK. It’s a nationwide initiative that raises money for communities which grow our coffee. Money that’s raised goes to Project Waterfall which was set up to bring clean water and sanitation to these communities across the world. It’s an incredible movement and we would love to raise more awareness around it as coffee forms as part of our daily lives! We thought we’d share some of the most interesting and fun coffee facts that we are guessing you probably didn’t know…

As you’ve probably noticed by now, the GB Hospitality team love a good Gin! And, in a couple of days we will be raising our glasses to celebrate a day that could have been created for us - International Gin and Tonic Day! We are so passionate about our drinks, and always ensure that they are as delicious (and moreish) as possible. To get us in the spirit, we thought we’d share with you a few tips on how you can make the ultimate drink this International Gin and Tonic Day... Opt for one that used real quinidine rather than artificial flavouring to give it a more natural taste. Some of our favourite tonic includes:
Create the perfect finishing touch to your Gin with creative garnishes! If you’re looking for something flowery, why not use grapefruit or a dab of rosemary, or if you’re looking for something a bit spicy, why not add a peel of orange? If you prefer classic tastes, a simple apple or piece of lime to make it that bit more delicious... History of Gin Our beloved Gin dates way back to 17th Century in Holland - despite some claims it came from Italy centuries before. It actually started out as medicine to help with stomach pains and mixed with Jenever to make it a little more bearable. Dutch soldiers would drink it before heading into battle ( that’s where the phrase Dutch Courage comes from)! If you’re interested in finding more out of about the history of Gin, read about it here - and also why drinking Gin is good for you, not that we need an excuse...
