Bank holiday is a chance to really let our hair down - who doesn’t love a good Monday off work? And what better way to spend it by booking a spontaneous night away with your other half, or your friends! We’ve pulled together a couple of gorgeous hotels that are perfect for those cheeky nights away that will keep you busy - and entertained- this May Bank Holiday.
Mercure Stratford Upon Avon
Stratford - to be or not to be - this bank holiday. Located in the beautiful centre of Stratford Upon Avon, this historic hotel has plenty to offer for a short stay including its stunning tudor decor, the delicious Marco’s New York Italian, oh and not to forget its friendly ghost! Discover more on Shakespeare and his life growing up here, and lose yourself in one of his plays in The Royal Shakespeare Theatre. There’s plenty of tours that take place from walking ones to ghost tours (check Tudor World out for this), the tour guide is absolutely fantastic and will leave you with an unforgettable experience! Finish the evening with a couple of drinks, and some local food, in one of its many cute little restaurants and bars.
Hard Days Night Hotel, Liverpool
If there’s one city in the world that will keep you entertained from arriving to leaving, it has to be Liverpool! Why not visit the Beatles inspired Hard Days Night Hotel? You can dine and drink here, before heading out to do a bit of retail therapy - and head to some of the coolest bars in the city such as the newly refurbished Circo which promises a night you’ll never forget. In the morning, you can enjoy a Full- English breakfast before taking a trip to the Albert Dock for a bit of sightseeing. Perfect!
The Daffodil, Lake District
For peace and quiet from the rest of the world, head to the beautiful Daffodil situated in Grasmere, Ambleside. Along with beautiful views across The Lake District, it also offers a delicious dining experience for guests, or a stunning spa for them to relax in for the ultimate countryside escape! It’s in a prime location for romantic walks, which can perfectly be finished off by a cold cider in a local pub!
