Heading on holiday is all about arriving in a new country and learning how to find your way around it - without being able to speak, and read, the lingo! For many, an idea of a holiday is to sit around the pool drinking all inclusive cocktails all day - and catching up with latest copy of Hello! But, for me, there’s nothing better than packing a bag to explore and learn about new countries and cultures from around the world. If you’re a bit of an adrenaline junkie too, you’ll know how exciting it is to push further than the traditional holiday boundaries. We’ve pulled some of the top places that you can visit - and stay in- which will definitely keep you on your toes! Perfect for leaving reality for a bit! Bethlehem, Palestine Every year, thousands of tourists descend into Israel - to explore and learn about the holy city, Jerusalem. On this tour, many visitors have the opportunity to cross the well controlled border into Palestinian territory, Bethlehem. Although guests will only spend a couple of hours here as part of a tour, there is an opportunity for those who want to experience Palestine to stay the night. One of the more well known places for guests to stay is artist Banksy's hotel, The Wall Off Hotel, which is close to the Israeli border that boasts of offering all guests a warm welcome, regardless of where they are from in the world. Although popular, the hotel is quite controversial - with its ten rooms facing the Israeli separation wall - that cuts through large parts of the West Bank. But like any hotel, there’s plenty of bars and restaurants on its door steps - although it has been described as a hotel with the worst view. North Korea A country that has been shut off completely from the rest of the world since 1953 must hold so many exciting secrets and tales. If you’ve always wanted to visit, there are a small number of tour groups in the UK who actually run trips to North Korea so you can experience the lifestyle for yourself. Tourists can head behind the world’s last remaining iron curtain to see what it’s like- probably one the most exciting and unique trips that you’ll probably take in your life! Antarctica Although visiting the Antarctic probably isn’t everyone’s idea of fun, it’s definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity! Guests will spend most of their time sailing on the beautiful Beagle channel to take in some of the most beautiful sights in the world, swim in Deception Bay, take a Zodiac Cruise or view the natural beauty at the Lemaire Channel. For the more daring, why not camp out in the freezing temperatures...or I've you have a bit of cash, make a night of it in White Desert - a hot spot for celebrity names including Prince Harry...
