February 14th. The day of love. Not that anyone needs a special day to be romantic, but it’s the time of year when card shops are adorned in teddy bears, fake roses and heart shaped chocolates - and your favourite restaurant is likely to be booked out months in advance for all those loved up couples! If you’re anything like the GB team you’ll be looking to break the status quo and be looking for celebrate Valentine’s Day with a twist. We don’t want to run of the mill “ to my loved one “ card or a meal for two for M&S (no offence Marks and Spencers)! We love to experience true romance -and the world is your oyster when it comes to showing your loved one just how much you mean to them. If you’re looking for a romantic way to spend the day, we’ve got you covered with our favourite romantic gestures… Cabin Retreat Cosy jumpers, log fire and hot chocolates? Yes, please! Up and down the U.K. there’s been an increase in romantic cabins being placed in the heart of the countryside where you can enjoy some alone time- and maybe even switch off that phone for a few days to enjoy a true idyllic escape. Romantic city break Paris and Venice; the cities who for many, many decades have encompassed what love is are probably still the most romantic spots you can enjoy Valentine’s Day in. But, if you’re looking for a last minute getaway that’s a bit different, why not head to Europe’s other hidden gems such as Lisbon, Tallinn or Berlin that are just as romantic, but just not as mainstream! Stargazing Cuddling up under the stars is one of the most romantic things any loved up couple enjoys. And the good news is you don’t have to go to the ends of the earth to get the perfect view! Dark Skies Festival takes place around the country in national parks - in places such as Yorkshire and Northumberland and offers the chance to find out more about the beautiful night skies.
